For brokers and advisors

For brokers, CPAs, estate attorneys and bankers.

If a client is thinking about what's next for their business, here is what I look for, where I focus, and how I handle an introduction.

The criteria

What I look for.

Established, owner-led service businesses within about an hour of Lakewood Ranch, with a team in place and revenue that comes back every year.

I'm a single, local buyer using my own capital plus an SBA bank loan. One decision-maker, no committee and no investment board, so you and your client get straight answers.

What I look for
RevenueAbout $1.5M to $5M
Owner earnings$300K+ a year (SDE)
History10+ years in business
PeopleA team in place
Revenue typeRecurring or insurance-paid

Five areas I focus on

Recurring, required, or insurance-paid work.

These are the industries I know I want to own for the long term. A strong business just outside them is still worth a call.

  1. Pest control and termite

    Residential and commercial service routes

  2. Commercial HVAC and refrigeration

    Service and maintenance agreements

  3. Commercial plumbing and backflow testing

    Required annual testing and repair

  4. Pool service

    Weekly route-based maintenance

  5. Auto glass and ADAS calibration

    Insurance-paid replacement and calibration

What I'm not: not private equity, not a competitor, and not a roll-up that buys to flip.

Know an owner thinking about what's next?

Business brokers, CPAs, estate attorneys, friends and neighbors: if you hear of a business that fits, I'd like the introduction. Every conversation is confidential.

How I handle an introduction

  • Your client's name and business stay confidential. I sign an NDA before reviewing anything.
  • I reply promptly and tell you early, and honestly, whether it's a fit.
  • Brokers: I'm glad to work within your process and timeline.
  • CPAs, attorneys and bankers: I keep you informed as far as your client wants, and your relationship with them stays yours.
  • Employees stay, the name stays, and the business stays local. Your client's legacy is protected.
